Proposed City Ordinance providing color-coded health card for patients from indigent families was approved by the 16th Council of the Sangguniang Panlungsod during the Regular Session last Tuesday, June 11.
The ordinance, entitled, “An Ordinance Establishing the Iligan City Integrated Socialized Color-Coded Health Card Indigency Program” was created to provide hospital assistance for outpatients and other inpatient hospitalization needs not covered by the Universal Health Care Law.
During the said session, other details of the ordinance were amended, such as increasing the maximum gross household income of the families who can qualify, before it was finally approved.
The approved ordinance was authored by the Chairperson of the Committee on Health, Councilor Belinda “Doc Bunz” Lim. The document will be finalized and published, before it can then be implemented.
