Classes 01 and 02 – 2018 SCAA Basic Military Training Starts


SCAA Classes 01 and 02 – 2018 with the officials of the Philippine Army and Iligan City Councilors.

The Classes 01 and 02 – 2018 of the Special CAFGU Active Auxiliary (SCAA) held their Opening Ceremony and Reception Day of the SCAA Basic Military Training Course at the Camp Pintoy, Suarez Iligan City last week, Monday, July 16.

There are a total 120 candidates who are now undergoing the said 45-day training, making up one SCAA company. The class is trained by the 1st Division of the 5th Infantry Battalion headed by Capt. Jesselito Alatraca, Charlie Company Commander of the 5th IB. Part of the Basic Military Training includes marksmanship, intelligence gathering, and security enforcement, among others.

The opening ceremony was graced by Deputy Commander of the 2nd Mech. Brigade Col. Pacianito De Castillo CAU (GSC) PA, Commander of the 4th Mech. IB Lt. Col. Bernardo Taquiban 4th Mechanized Executive Capt. Teodoro M. Nicor Jr., Training Officer of the 5IB 1ID Capt. Renie C. Duran (INF) PA, Officer-in-Charge of the 5th IB 1ID Maj. Elzhoor D. Jimlah (INF) PA, Capt. Alatraca, and Iligan City Councilors Ian C. Uy and Sorilie Christine Bacsarpa, representing the Acting City Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz.

The new SCAA was formed through the initiative of Councilor Ian C. Uy, Chairman of the Committee on Peace and Order, and Mayor Celso G. Regencia, as being a force multiplier to further enhance the security of Iligan City. After the opening ceremony, the candidates were sent to the CAFGU Training Center in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte where they hold their basic military training for 45 days.
