In pursuit of the continuing commitment towards maintained peace and order and public safety in the City of Iligan, the Local Government Unit of Iligan initiated the 1st Joint Meeting of the Provincial and City Peace and Order Council (P/C POCs) and Provincial and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (P/C ADACs) of Lanao del Norte and Iligan City on the 24th day of April at the Elena Tower Inn, Tibanga, Iligan City.
Highlights of the meeting focused on identifying the common problems that are existing in the whole province of Lanao del Norte and the City of Iligan. It was attended by Lanao del Norte Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia, Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz, and DILG Secretary Elizabeth Buna. Councilor Ian C. Uy, Chairman of the Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety, also actively involved in the aforementioned event.
In a statement, Mayor Regencia said that the members of the Peace and Order Council (POC) and Anti- Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) should identify concrete solutions to those identified problems such as the production of illegal drugs, kidnapping, and carnapping, bombing and illegal gambling.
This significant event is in adherence to the aforementioned objective in ensuring the safety and welfare of its people.
